Do you have a paperboy? You know, one of those kids who walk the neighborhood with a bag strapped over his shoulder, throwing newspapers on your front step with the accuracy of a hall of fame pitcher?
Our paperboy showed up yesterday, and delivered a strike.
Notice the gentleman on the bow.
He's winding up to throw a rolled up Texas newspaper to the crew of the barge.
This practice of the Pilot boats delivering newspapers to ships and tugs when they are delivering pilots, has been going on forever. It's a nice touch, I must say.
When I first started in this business, they would often deliver, along with the newspaper, a carton of Marlboro cigarettes.
You don't see that anymore.
Something about health risks.

Great pics!! I guess, since I am first, I have to ask...what happens when he misses?? Does he give it a toss again??? Ha!!

Awesome! Who knew? I certainly didn't. I imagine it takes a great arm to make the delivery!
Wow I would think you would have to have perfect aim! I was a paper girl back in the day....my banana seat bike early mornings....hated collecting the money.
Does he make it every time? Very cool service indeed... kinda like when you go on vacation and the hotel delivers USA today everymorning at your door.
What a charming story and so "American"! I wonder if he ever played in the major leagues. ;-}
