A few months back I mentioned that my brother Patrick was writing a screenplay for his movie.
I know what you're thinking, "yeah right and I'm writing a book."

His first movie ( actually those of us in the business call it a film ) has it's world premier at the Philadelphia Film and Animation Festival sometime between September 30th and Oct 2nd.
How cool is that?

Oh, I'm going.
This will be my first red carpet walk and I'm looking forward to it.

Here's the deal. "Project 21" gives aspiring film makers 21 days to create a short film. There are awards and prizes involved.
Patrick had the screenplay written already because, well, the dude is constantly writing something.
So all he had to do was find some local actors, find a location, find someone to film it (on the cheap and by cheap I mean no pay ) find someone with sound equipment and knew how to use it, edit the movie, produce it and submit it...all in 21 days.
He directed it, so he had that covered.

He did it and the name of the film is "All My Love, Dad." It's based on a true story.
Briefly the story is this.
When my brother Patrick was born, my Dad wrote him a letter, that day.
He put it in an envelope, stamped it, and sent it to his new born child.
That was unnecessary. Dad lived in our house, always did. He could have handed it to him, or put it in his crib. But he didn't.
My Dad was cool like that.
Pat didn't get his hands on this letter until he was an adult and my Dad had passed away.
I don't know the contents of this letter. I didn't want to spoil the films ending.

The movies submitted to "Project 21" vary in subject matter.
Comedy, horror, romance, you name it.
It's quite obvious Patrick is going for the "tear jerker" category.

It's also obvious that what my older brother and sister have been saying for years is true.
Patrick was "the favorite."
I mean really, My Dad WROTE HIM A LETTER.

Keep your fingers crossed for my film making little brother.
This is good stuff.

wow.....this is fantastic !
i think you both inherited an amazing writing gene...maybe you can help him on his next project...

and a tear jerker....always my favorite with a comedy following closely behind.....and then give a bit of horror to equal it all out.

Hi! I'm back among the living - I mean POWERED! 6 days. Not particularly easy but I am so proud of my family and how they handled the situation. My kids never whined once. Watch for my blog post on this somewhat amazing week! Can't wait to see this movie! Can't wait to find out what was in that letter!
