I saw this morning there was another attack by pirates on an American ship in that dangerous playground off Somalia. I have a feeling this whole situation is going to get really messy.
I must admit I am a little embarrassed to say I haven't given this piracy problem a second thought until the first American flag ship was involved a few days ago. Embarrassed because this problem off the coast of Somalia has been going on since the 1980's. I like to tell myself it is because I just can't worry about all the problems there are in the world, but that's the easy way out. As a citizen of the world I shouldn't wait until misdeeds come knocking at my door before I get involved, at least emotionally.
With that being said, thank god there are people like Erin (see link.)http://www.worldpulse.com/node/9300 It is people like her that make a difference, that give us all hope that there possibly can be solutions found to make the future a better place for all the worlds citizens.

You are the only person I know out "on the water" and I thought of you immediately when that first boat was taken over by the pirates....and now again !

This piracy situation is certainly a great cause for concern. I just hope that it's resolved a.s.a.p and with no bloodshed.
