Last year on Dec 10th, 2011
I posted this picture on my blog.
Almost one year to the day
Dec 22,2012
I took this picture of the same bridge.
Here's what concerns me.
In the time between the first photo and the 2nd photo
I have traveled 23,996 by air.
I have traveled more than a 1000 miles by water.
I saw my 3rd daughter graduate college.
I lost 2 trees in my back yard.
We had a Presidential election.
My wife has become a "Ancestry" junkie.
I got a new camera and I have been sucked into a new cause to fight.
So how in the world after all of that travel
and all the big events
AND EVEN A NEW CAMERA
can I, one year later, end up in the same damn spot?
**
Do you know that those Ghirardelli chocolate squares
actually have directions on the back of each square
on how to open the package???
**
I was talking to my daughter today
as she was driving in her car.
Here's a sentence a Dad hates to hear.
"Dad, by the way, how many miles can I drive
AFTER my low gas light comes on?"
**
Here's a sentence a husband LOVES to hear.
".....so, those 2 trees that came down in the back yard last night during the storm, well,
I couldn't get a hold of you so I just told the tree surgeon to go ahead and cut them up
into manageable lengths."
**
With the Holidays and all
I'll try to keep it light at least for a while.
Happy weekend people.

Too funny....great shot though! I have a feeling I will hear that same gas light conversation with my girl some day soon! Have a very Merry Christmas! I hope you are home to celebrate with all your girls!
wow....maybe we all should look back on 2012 and see what we did/got accomplished and write it down....it's funny how we easily forget all that has happened in a year.
and seriously, directions on how to open chocolate....omg, that just cracked me up !
Visiting from Autumn Sky Ranch (Denise). Like your style. :)
Circle of life in living color! Have a Merry Christmas Mark! Been a good year with you!
“One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.” – Henry Miller
No doubt, the miles you've travelled have shaped your way of seeing things. Even if you're back in the same space, the bridge isn't exactly the same - and neither are YOU!
Smiling!
Merry Christmas to you and your family!
I guess ending up in the same place is not such a bad thing. I am fairly certain I was sitting in this same place last Christmas morning, drinking my coffee from this same cup. Hey, don't laugh about those directions. I think I've read those when I had a tough time opening one of those little chocolates:-)
A Happy Review... Life is good.
