No place to park.

This is just a look at what my 3 week hitch on the boat has looked like so far. Some hitches go fast and that's usually because the boat is busy, many many trips from point A to point B. This hitch has not been like that and because of that, this hitch has really ragged on.
About 2 1/2 weeks ago we left Houston Tx bound for Corpus Christi, TX. It's a short trip taking about 24 hours.

Once we arrived at Aransas Pass, the entrance to Corpus Christi, we were told to go to anchor. Which we did. For about 3 days. We're just floating, a good distance away from the barge, like this because the weather forecast called for increased swells. Increased swells means we can not stay alongside the barge, as we would be bouncing around too much, which causes damage to both the tug and the barge.

The weather did turn bad, so we actually hooked the barge up to our tow wire and left the anchorage and started towing the barge out in the Gulf, in circles, going nowhere. Just waiting for the weather to subside, so we could go back to our anchorage, and wait some more.

Finally we were told there was a dock available for us. Not a dock for us to go and load the barge, but a dock where we could wait, until the loading dock was available. Right behind us was the dock we were waiting for. Finally, the tug and barge that was there left.

When they left, our tankermen untied our barge, so we could shift it back about 100 yards to the loading dock.

And that, my friends, is my last 2 1/2 weeks in a nutshell. Pretty boring.

This morning the bells tolled in Newtown, Connecticut.

The NRA issued a statement saying all our schools should have armed guards, that that would solve the problem.

A few words come to my mind.
Disturbing
Reckless
Extreme.

Please contact your elected officials if you don't think the Art teacher should be armed.

Looking at these pictures and reading your note, I wondered if you've seen "Life of Pie"... We saw it yesterday... good film.
