Hotel construction, for the birds.

My inbox today
had an email from LaQuinta Inns and Suites
asking me for input concerning my recent stay there.

I had to chuckle.
Be careful what you ask for
was my first thought.

When I got off the boat a few weeks ago
a fellow crew member and I were not going to make our flights home,
so we were given a hotel room for the night.

As we entered the lobby
the noise was deafening.
A sheet was hung from the ceiling separating us from the 2 construction workers
who were operating power tools as they removed the old tile flooring.

To communicate to my friend I had to yell at the top of my voice.
I was cracking up.
The girl who works behind the counter was not there.
I hit the little bell that sits on every hotel counter to get the attention of someone
but when I rang the bell, you couldn't here it
because the noise was so loud.
On the counter were two new hard hats
in case the customers felt safer with them on while checking in.

I actually thought I was on candid camera for a minute.
It would have been a perfect episode for the show.
My friend and I continued to crack up at the absurdity of the situation.

The best part was when the employee returned.
I was expecting her first reaction to be apologetic,
but what she did was walk in like it was just a normal day,
looked at me as if there was not loud construction going on 2 feet away from me,
and yelled at the top of her voice,
"CHECKING IN?"

As I laughed I yelled,
YES!

NAME PLEASE?

It was too funny.
I did not respond to the LaQuinta email today.

**

I played with my camera this morning.

I hope you were able to have a good night sleep amongst all the construction. Bird pictures are gorgeous! Have a great day!

I suppose they schedule the workers whenever they can, but sheesh! I like the photos of the birds. I was out this morning trying to capture the multitude of sparrows. Sometimes I succeed, other times not so much.

You can be thankful you weren't checking onto a black ship... Maybe. I really like the bird pictures. What are the black birds in the first picture? I'm guessing the black birds in the second picture starlings. I like all of them because the images you got imply much more than the camera sees.

I can imagine you cracking up!

Love those starlings or black birds or whatever they are called. That blue is so pretty!

I'm not a birder - which you'll immediately recognize when I say I love those little yellow birds! It's like they carry their own sunshine with them!
Made my day!

Playing with your camera is a much more beneficial way to spend the day.
