No news is good news

At anchor, Piney Point Maryland.

For those of you who have visited my little blog lately, you know by now that I was on this
comparatively long trip, with no phone or internet or CNN...boo-hoo, poor Mark.

Here's the upside. Sometimes it's nice to live a few days in a row without being bombarded with news, all of which is bad these days.
I didn't realize this until I was bombarded once again upon entering port.
I'll mention just a couple news items that has me shaking my head, once again.

I see some cheesehead Wisconsin Governor has the whole country riled up because he wants to shrink benefits and collective bargaining rights of the public workers of his State, all to save money.
From the uproar that has ensued nation wide, I'm assuming he won't be using this as a talking point during his re-election campaign.

So, some disgruntled Iraqi defector comes to the CIA and claims he worked in a place in Iraq that had biological weapons inside. This nim-rod, code named "Curveball" must have been very convincing.
Instead of checking HIS REFERENCES, we started a war in which, as of this date, 4756 Iraq coalition military personnel have died.
The company I work for does better background checks on new hires.
Curveball has recently admitted he made the whole story up.

The Catholic Church now has a "computer application" where the sinners of the world
can get online AND CONFESS THEIR SINS!

Now that's what I'm talkin about!

Instead of going to my church, and standing, with sweaty palms anxiously in line behind the other local sinners of my area, waiting for my turn to enter the dark confessional booth behind the curtain, I can now check my email, leave a message on Facebook, dial up my "Roman Catholic application", confess my sins on line and then go blog about it.
Rumor has it, it was the Pope's idea.

Here's what I know.
My Mom is turning over in her grave.

I saw this boat in Fourchon, LA this past August.
I'm quite certain His Holiness was not at the wheel.

Mark,
I've figured out what it is I like most about your BLOGs. Right up there with the excellent thinking and skillful writing, its the horizons in your photographs that I really like. I like what happens on the lines of your horizons. Thanks.
