Rescued

Do you want to know how cool my wife is?

On a recent vacation to St Remy in France, we were strolling through the market when we came upon a man who was using a goat and a dog, both in bad looking shape, to raise money for a supposed animal rescue.

My wife Mary Ellen saw right through this little scheme this guy had going.....and she was pissed.
Do you see the look on her face and the body language as she speaks to the man with the animals?

Let me tell you, you do not want to be on the other end of that pose. She was basically saying to the guy, why don't you feed these animals you idiot? She took a closer look and did not like what she saw.

So she ran into the store next door, bought a bag of dog food and told the guy to feed the hungry animals, now.

He was not moving with the urgency she had expected, so she jumped in to help.

This little ploy of using these animals to tug at the heart strings of people so they would give money, that I'm sure never made it to the animals, was infuriating. My wife was very upset by it and tears flowed as my daughter hugged her when they walked away. My wife did what she could for those poor guys, she made sure they had at least one good meal that day.

That's how cool my wife is.

Your wife really is cool! That is easy to see just by glancing through your blog. This is something that my Mom used to do, so I'm even more touched by it. Love how you took the role of a photo-reporter and was able to present the story to us. That makes you a cool couple :-)
