A ferry needing help

The Captain just came to my office
a few minutes ago
and told me to go start the engines.

My first thought?
"Seriously dude, I'm working on a blog post here."
It's 1030 PM.
We're not scheduled to go anywhere for a few days.

As I got up he said,
" A ferry with 30 people on board just lost power and crashed into the pilings."

Oh.

So I started then up
but we were beaten to the scene by 3 inland tugs
that happened to be in the neighborhood.

The ferry is on the right in the photo.
You can also see the two inland tugs that pulled her off the pilings.
The ferry was taken to it's ferry dock not too far away.

All passengers are safe,
tugs of all shapes and sizes are on scene to help
if needed. Police boats are scampering around basically getting in the way
and a Coast Guard helicopter is
overhead.

Quite a bit of excitement for a sleepy Tuesday night.

Your photograph, night on the water, belies the drama of the situation; so your BLOG words fill in the excitement. Altogether very effective... I can hear the helicopter and see the police boats darting around trying to find something to do.
