Tug boats have Thanksgiving too.

Like a typical family
gorging themselves with Thanksgiving turkey
and all the trimmings,
our tugboat had a Thanksgiving of sorts today
filling up on fuel, water and supplies.

Below a barge pulls up alongside us
to transfer some much needed supplies.

You know how those big military
transport planes refuel while underway,
fueling on the fly
without stopping?

Well, what we do is nothing like that.

Also on this Black Friday
our deckhands decided it would be
a good idea to go grocery shopping.

I cringe every time I hear the words
Black Friday and shopping
in the same sentence.

I asked the deckhand where he was going.
He answered, "Walmart."
I said, "You do know it's Back Friday don't you?"
He replied, "The grocery isle won't be crowded."

I reminded him that Walmart
has been running Black Friday commercials
on TV, every 5 minutes for the last 3 weeks.

My words did not phase him.

He left the boat for his trip to Walmart
at 10:30 this morning.
He returned to the boat at
5:45 PM.

Silly man.

I hit the mall at 8AM...on Black Friday! It was crowded but not obscenely so! So was able to maneuver quite nicely! Got some great deals and was in and out in two hours!
I didn't do Walmart...that would be suicidal! He was a silly man!
But now you do have groceries! Ha!!

No Black Friday for me. I went for a walk with husband and we supported our local restaurant with a lunch in their establishment. Yes, he was a silly man to go to Walmart. Sounds like he survived.
