I'm in a bad mood.
I have separation anxiety.

You may have heard the Olympics are taking place, right this moment as I write from a boat with a low budget TV satellite system. If the boat is moving at all, the chances of me seeing an entire race from start to finish is slim to none. I take that back, it's none.

The TV picture comes in....then goes out. Comes in.......then goes out. Comes in.....well, you get the picture.
IT'S MADDENING.

You have to understand, if I'm at home when the Olympics are on TV, my life pretty much shuts down from opening ceremonies till the flames go out. My wife understands this and the honey do list is cut to the bare bones for this 2 week period. She has heard too many times over the years, " honey, I can't stop the water leak in the basement yet, the fencing competition isn't over yet."

She understands.

But on this boat, where I can't actually stop working because the archery competition is on, I do like to take a peek at what's going on once in a while and today I saw some soccer. Very little soccer.
When the TV came in I noticed the Great Britain/Korea soccer game had just ended in a tie.
They were lining up for a shootout. I swear, every time a player would approach the ball...the picture would go out...then come on in time for me to see the reaction of the players. Then another player approaches the ball.....and, loss of picture. Like the gods were playing with me.

Maddening I tell you!!

I did see Phelps swim 3/4 of his race the other night. That was fun. I didn't see the ending but I heard he's been quite successful.
I want to just forget about it and watch it on demand when I get home, but like my dog after my lunch, I just can't give up.

So I'll continue to watch bits and pieces.

I can hear the annoyance in your words. Someone needs to talk to the ship captain about an upgrade.

Oh, how frustrating! I'm enjoying watching, and I must say, London is looking gorgeous, despite the patchy weather.

i can only imagine how you feel....as i know your love for the olympics !

those of us with great reception are the opposite of you...running around muting channels or hitting the off button as they announce "spoiler alert" for what we want to watch in the evening that's already happened and has been taped for us !!
