Yesterday I was whining about the lack of
photographic opportunities
at my location here in the oil rich, refinery saturated
state of Texas.
One of my friends
(Karen at This Old House)
suggested I shut up
( she didn't actually say that)
and refocus on smaller things.
Things that are under my feet, as she put it.
Ok.
Here is a shot at the entrance to my man cave,
the engine room,
which is under my feet.
Actually today I'm more focused on
Hurricane Sandy that is taking aim as we speak at my living room.
Of course I am of no help to family out here .
We're far enough inland that our windows will stay intact.
Our concern is the power outage
that will surely accompany Sandy during her trip.
Here's hoping all the residents of the Northeast
hear Sandy's voice saying....
"RECALCULATING"
as she hangs a hard right turn real soon.

We are waaaay inland too in Virginia, but could still get power outages if we get enough wind. We were living in Maryland when Hurricane Isabelle hit. It sort of took a similar path and hit the Virginia shoreline and then came up the Chesapeake Bay. Let's just hope everyone is prepared and taking this thing seriously.
I will join your prayer for that hard right turn. Like the photo shoot too!!

I really hope Sandy makes a turn to sea....it's nothing new for the East coast people know how to prepare but it still sucks being without power for days and days. it's that hot shower I'd miss the most. Have a wonderful Sunday!

Well, I guess we'll find just how much of a bitch Sandy is, the waiting's about over. I'm hoping they tell us not to come to work tomorrow!!!!!
I first met you and your blog in the engine room singing show tunes. Needless to say, I agree with Karen...way to refocus! I love that engine room. :) Praying that Sandy will not be as tough as her name implies...
Not exactly a desert, you boat, but you've turned it into something important with your eye and your camera. I like both pictures, but the one with your camera on the deck... Great shot... It puts me there.
Sitting over here in Amsterdam and watching CNN as Sandy marches towards us in Philly. Daughter watching over house and is as prepared as can be. At least we're not in a flood zone but have many large trees that could be at risk. Who would have believed we'd have another hurricane a year later????

Had to laugh at "recalculating", such a common word now with the GPS. I do hope it turns right, but it isn't looking like that on the news. Not sure it listened to you.
