Living in the Past

I'm in a funk
and having a very hard time snapping out of it.

It's not because Manti Te'o, the handsome middle linebacker for Notre Dame
and runner up in this years Heisman Trophy voting
fell in love with an internet girl friend who never existed,
( he also mourned her death, but that's another story.)

and it's not because Oprah failed to make Lance Armstrong cry real tears
during the big interview she scored,
( you just know that was her goal )

and it's not because of the rumors flying around
the City of Angels
that Mel Gibson is the father to Jodie Foster's children.
( cute couple )

I can handle all that.

Actually, it's because on New Years Day
I lifted my head off the pillow and saw this,
Kind of heavenly, isn't it?

Today I lifted my head off the pillow and saw this.
Kind of jail cell like, isn't it?

Can ya feel me?
**

By the way
did anyone see Jodie Foster speak the other night
as she accepted a life time achievement award during some awards show?

Was she speaking in tongues?
I just couldn't keep up.

My wife Mary Ellen has joined a blog community
called "Flaming Vegan"
and her first contribution is right here.

I think it's interesting reading.

Yes your views were quite diverse...ha! Sorry you are in a cell right now. Leave it quickly and go out on deck...smell the sea air...feed the gulls!! That should perk you up!
I will visit your wife's blog as well.

I think your new years view is dreamy I'd be in a funk too! I agree Jodie Foster was all over the place! I cringe at the idea Mel Gibson is the father yikes he is a train wreck! Have a great weekend....off to check your wife's blog out!

I almost always agree with you, but this time... I'm not so sure. I like the word for your space on the boat. Maybe it's because berth sounds like birth and that's a beginning and I'm about to get all philosophical here and dig myself into a hole that I probably can't think or write myself out of; so ....

I went to the Flaming Vegan web post... scared the daylights out of me because it makes so much sense. I sent it to my vegetarian son, who is one of the healthiest souls on earth... I've got to spend some more time developing better reasons than the ones I've had for not becoming vegetarian.

nice write up from mrs. mark. i will have to go through the recipes on that site as i'd been wanting to add more vegetarian options to our meals.

sorry about your view. maybe you could print out a 20x30 of the first image and hang it at the foot of your bed. ;)

Ahhh - she lives admirably!!!! I am "green" with envy - pun intended...

Are you a vegetarian also??

I get the depression for sure. I go thru it after each trip to "our" house in the Outer Banks. I also kind of got it after Christmas break...maybe it's not just after vacations away. Maybe we just crave retirement!!!!

Jodie was hard to follow, but I got the jest of it. Mel Gibson, hummm? Interesting! Oh yes, you do need a new view.
