It started innocently enough.
I thought I could handle it.
What harm could come of me taking in one?
I've seen people do just one
and it didn't lead to anything harder.
I can attest to the fact that too many
can affect your life.
I tuned in Friday
just to take a peek at some of the madness.
I stumbled into bed about 7 hours later
just before the couch sores set in.
Three Philadelphia college's have made it into the field of 64
that are competing for the basketball National Championship.
Temple University, LaSalle University and Villanova University,
all from the city of brotherly love
made the tournament.
I am specifically interested in Temple and LaSalle
since a good part of what could have been my retirement fund
ended up in their tuition fund.
Temple and LaSalle really have no chance.
I figured I'd tune in to watch as they both would probably get eliminated
in the first round of play.
Can you say UPSET?
Temple and LaSalle are still alive.
The hour of my life that I intended to spend on basketball Friday
turned into a all day affair.
The drama of these "loose and go home" games
is something that can't be made up.
I thought I could do one and stop.
I can't.
Admitting I have a problem is the first step.
Yesterday I watched all or part of SEVEN BASKETBALL GAMES.
Upsets and last second shots filled my 32" screen all day.
Scenes of elated players after an unfathomable win
were offset by images of devastated kids as their dreams came to an end.
This is drama at it's best.
If you have anything at all planned today
JUST SAY NO
to March Madness.
You can't do just one.

Are you starting a 12-step program or just planning to watch all the rest of the games?
Hahaha I have a feeling you are not alone!! I'm heading to the mall at least I know the men population will be down today! Have fun!
GONZAGA!!!!!!!! (I just like saying the name...) :)
There's a BA group in my neighborhood you can join if your addiction becomes life threatening. Do you think I should worry that my wife keeps the kind of scoresheet I see on your table when she watches Dancing with the Stars? Don't tell her I've noticed... and worried.
Tv is ready ! Popcorn is poping ! Have fun !
I graduated from Villanova, so I was really disappointed when the lost.
I really enjoy college basketball but I never watch pro.
Let's go LA SALLE!!!!
good that I didn't start then... I have enough obsessions without adding another one! :)
Is that the same as eating just one potato chip?
