A Great Man

A cobblestone street near Brussels city center

that dates back centuries.

A brick walkway that is so new

it's not finished.

To a subject of a bit more significance..... 

" A great man"

That phrase is too often thrown around

with not much thought given to what it actually means.

A ball player that signs autographs is sometimes called a great guy.

My neighbor once lent me a ladder,

I described him as a great guy.

"In my country we go to prison first

and then become President."  - Nelson Mandela

Mr. Mandela has been fighting the good fight

almost his entire life,

and today, it is reported,

he is fighting for his life in a hospital bed in South Africa.

The consequences  of Nelson Mandela's life

will have a lasting positive effect on our world forever.

That's the true definition of

"A great Man"
