The Staging Area

The boats tow winch which sits on the stern and is the workhorse of the vessel. It provides us the means to tow our barge and to retrieve it when we get close to land. Normally its in use 2 times a day, it may be the most important piece of equipment on the boat. But it is slowly being transformed into a staging area for the fishing that is taking place these past weeks. It’s hydraulics normally rush through her piping systems at 2000 pounds per square inch, today, it sits dormant, a platform to hold the hand lines, hooks and other assorted goodies needed to catch fish. Today is Sunday. I think I’ll go watch the boys fish.
