"You betcha!"

I just read that Sarah Palin is stepping down as Governor of Alaska. I still can't wrap my head around the thought that the Republicans are even considering having her run for President. I just don't get it.

She is about as qualified to be President as Tina Fey.

My thoughts on this has nothing to do with her being a woman. I have 3 daughters and a very independent wife, so you can see where I'm coming from. If it wasn't for Obamma, Mrs Clinton would have had my vote.

She is smart, clever, worldly, experienced, a great politician. A sensible choice.

Palin just isn't smart enough, period. Have you ever seen her in an interview? How can she be considered for such a high office? It blows me away.

If she could pick out Pakistan on a map, I'd consider it, but I'd bet my paycheck she couldn't.

I wonder if she is playing a joke on us, and I'm falling for it. Maybe she realizes she is in over her head, but is just running with it, to see how far she can take it. Maybe she sits at home with hubby and laughs at CNN when they mention her name as a possible Presidential Candidate. "Look honey", she says as she holsters her sidearm, they are actually taking me serious," she says laughing about the absurdity of it all.

Anyway, she'll be unemployed at the end of the month and I'm hoping she becomes the front runner for the Republican party. It sure will be amusing.

It's all about the 'ideology' Mark... she sprouts a few buzzwords to the religious right and they lap it up. The fact that she is unqualified for the position is a minor detail, neither was Bush Jnr. Hmm, that should be worrying really, he was unqualified, yet served two terms.

But I despise those politicians who make it their goal to legislate morality for others and I do hope that she doesn't consider running for the top position because I feel that she would put women back decades. Flashing a big smile and a bit of leg doesn't cut it in the serious political arena for very long, if at all.

I'm with you and Carol. This woman scares me and really makes me wonder what thinking Americans are up against. Catch-phrases seem to attract loyalty while there are no intelligent messages behing them. Heaven help us!
