A Christmas gathering

As I sit here on the tug
miles away from my family for the second
Christmas in a row
I found myself reflecting on this Holiday season
that is slowly disappearing
in the rear view mirror.

As 2011 speeds toward us
at breakneck speed
I thought about a family gathering we had,
an early Christmas celebration of sorts
before I left for the boat.

Gathered were my siblings and their children
and their children.
The true meaning of Christmas
was alive in the room

This is a gift that just keeps on giving.

Each month has a Sarah Palin quote
that never fails to bring a smile to my face.

Her quote for January is special.

While on the campaign trail she was asked
"What newspapers do you read?"

I understand that question was a bit difficult and maybe
a little unfair.
Talk about throwing a hard ball!

Her answer:
"All of 'em, any of them that have been
in front of me over all these years."

I love Christmas.

Sarah is getting richer and wiser... which is very scary. I hear she has a publicist now who filters what she says before it gets to newspapers. A massive attempt is being made to make her seem thoughtful and wise... They say she is getting ready to be president... scary, indeed.

Mark, I like your sister's approach. Let's keep the real Sarah out in the open as much as possible.

LOL... ask me how much I cannot stand that this woman has come so far so fast. And she's debating whether she will run for President. *sigh* WE have given her the platform!

..this..flabbergasts me.

LOVE the column. And I still watch youtube videos of Tina Fey in her glorious rendition of SP.
