"You should get a MAC"

"Get a mac", they tell me, so easy, problem free.

So I did. Bought one for my wife for Christmas.
The house is wireless, so she should be ably to sit at the table and drink her tea as she checks my blog.

One click on the MAC, get on the internet and surf baby.
Purchased "Apple Care", but I shouldn't even need it because "Mac's are trouble free, you should get one."

WRONG!

Seems her new Macbook pro has issues. "Get a Mac, their problem free."
As I sit here at my dining room table on my little Eee notebook with Windows 7
I am writing to say I am so glad I got the "Apple Care", BECAUSE I'M GOING TO NEED IT.

Mr Macbook pro doesn't seem to want to get a internet connection when turned on in my house.
"Get a Mac, they're really nice."

I wonder if Apple Care, covers laptops thrown from the dining room table out into the front yard by way of a closed window?

We shall find out very soon.

Sorry to hear this. WE have used Macs since 1989 and never one problem with any of them throughout the years. G3, G4, Swivelhead, six different iMacs up the yazoo, iPad, and for Christmas a Macbook Pro that works perfectly on our wireless. I'll be curious to find out what the problem is and what the fix is.

Curious. I have a history of Macs with no issues like that. Could it be the wireless and not the Mac?

I love my MAC and only one room in my house can I not get connected it's pretty far from my wireless router. But other than that I've had zero problems....sorry maybe you got a lemon!

well you know how i feel....wink wink.....and for some reason i'm taking this personally like it's all my fault....sniff sniff......LOL

anyhow, if it makes you feel better, our newest macbook pro {after multiple MacBooks for everyone and iPhones x4 and an iPad} was a bit of a dud. shortly after we got it, they had to replace the airport card. problem solved but only for a few months. then they replaced the logic board, connection and a new airport card. everything is SWEET now and they fixed everything each time in 24 hours at no cost to us {the last itemization with my total to pay being a big fat zero, was 684.00}
SO apple stands behind their stuff and the stores are filled with people who want to help.

actually they told me that when i live on the beach in a house next to mark and his wife, neither of us will ever have another problem again :)

keep me posted !!!

Too funny. I have heard that one too, so far haven't broken down. Just had a new hard drive added to my old lap top. It should be good for a couple more years.

Good luck with the healing of the MAX.

I'm a MAC guy... have been since 1980-something and have been fortunate not to have had any big trouble with desk-top Macs or Mac laptops. Whenever I think I have a problem I go into the Apple store near where I live and invariably learn that there's an easy explanation (and fix) for my issue. If you have an Apple store nearby, go and tell your troubles to somebody at the "genius bar." It's good therapy.

So sorry to hear its a problem. Mac user here for a number of years and only problem was with my new MacBook Pro last year when it wouldn't transfer over my info from my old mac correctly. Spent 5 hours with the Mac store and their experts trying to make it right and at the end of the day, they just gave me another new computer. I LOVE my Mac! And their service is great! And their customer service is great too. Hope it turns out that way for you.
