The following is a sentence I never thought I would ever say.

"Last night I went to a Polo match and had a great time."
It's not because I am a big horse guy.
In fact, they scare me.
They're kinda big.

And they move at a high rate of speed.
Scary fast.

What amazed me is how talented the riders were.
I have a tough time hitting a golf ball sitting on a tee,
and they guys and gals are sprinting on a horse while leaning over and smacking a ball
with much more accuracy than I hit a stationary golf ball.

 Unlike soccer
this was an exciting high scoring game.
I think the final was 13 to 11.
And just like the movie Pretty Woman
at half time the spectators go out and repair the divots.
I declined to do so.

Talented horseman
beautiful animal
a Jazz band
and wine.

Not a bad way to spend a summer evening.

beautiful shots, mark! i'm not one of those girly-girls who grew up wanting a pony, nor do i watch sports, BUT sports pertaining to horses are oddly appealing to me.

What?! You declined to stomp the dirt divits back in place? Afraid of a little horse poop, eh? It's tradition.

Just teasing. You caught some gorgeous shots. Next time you're in D.C., take your daughter to the polo matches near the Roosevelt memorial on Sundays.

I would say a perfect way to spend a summer evening. Love that they went out and repaired the divots after too.

Wow! Beautiful photography... I'm sending you a horse "story" that I'd better not post on the Internet... Can't resist.
