An artist

As I mentioned in the previous post, the art world and I have been pretty much at opposite ends of the spectrum. Then I have my daughter take up the interest, which in turn, makes me take up the interest.
And then about 2 years ago I get this great Cannon digital camera, and about that same time I get introduced to the world of blogging, where there is just an insane amount of info and examples of great photography.
I'm like a camera nut now. I take it almost everywhere. If I see something that has the slightest chance of being an interesting picture, I shoot that baby. The problem is this.
Let's say my camera can perform 40 different functions. For the first year, I would use 2.
1) Turn it on.
2) Take a picture.
After checking out all these different sites with crazy good photography, a year later I got the camera manual out and started reading. WOW! It can do that? And that?
I love checking out great pictures now. I think its because I appreciate now, how good these photographers really are.
Of the numerous photo blog sites that are out there, this is the one I go to everyday. Check out the post for Tues, Nov 17th, and tell me just how cool is that photo she has there. The photo in the Nov 15th post is beautiful and the 13th, well, you get the idea.
Talent.

I've just arrived from Beth's blog and I adore her photography. The layered & textured photograph on her Nov. 17 post is exquisite.
I can totally relate to the crazy love of your camera, which you seem to have. Cheers.

Hey Mark, Beth sent me over ... I will enjoy following your blog and your travels with your camera. It is addictive I know. Beth's work is so inspiring and her generosity in encouraging other photography wanna-bees is heart-warming. Stay safe and keep sharing your talents.

Beth sent me to say "HI". I hope you have had a good day. I had my camera almost a year before I decided to learn what it can do too. Beth is a great photographer and I think we can learn alot from her if we just keep reading.

Hi Mark -- Beth is great, isn't she? She steered me here, urging me to take a peek. I totally get your camera passion, being stricken with the same virus. And I love your post on choosing a picture of yourself to post.
