My Favorite Martian

I think it's official, we take too much for granted.
Have you heard we have a rover on Mars, taking photos of this famous planet, and sending us images that are as clear as the images on my flat screen TV?

This machine that we built will be drilling on Mars soon for rock samples.
Ho-Hum.

So, we're on Mars.
More people care when the new season of Project Runway begins than the fact that we are literally roving around Mars.
Yeah, we're on Mars.
Ho-Hum.

The "This just in" section on CNN's homepage has todays Mars story listed about 1/2 way down the page.
Ho-Hum, another Mars story.

The "lead" story tonight, "Jay Leno takes a pay cut."

I wish the news was more news and less entertainment news...but this is what the people want unfortunately. We loved watching the BBC when we lived in Germany...partly because it was our only english channel but it was news real news!

yeah....poor jay. what, only like 20 million now instead of his usual 25-30 million.....just so others don't get laid off.
gee, i hope he'll be okay and be able to pay all of his bills. so sad.
sorry, that's just me being snarky :)

and project runway doesn't do much for me, but we're currently hooked on the bachelor pad like teenagers who find "the joy of sex" on their parents bed stand and sneak away to read it.....so sad.

I thought of you last night when someone described Paul Ryan as the "male Sarah Palin" LOL!!!!!!

He hunts deer, catches catfish with his bare hands, and makes his own bratwurst. Dangerous for Women's Health : 59 votes on reproductive rights in Congress and all against Women's Rights...

Eeeek!

Tell me again what we're getting out of the Mars mission... Don't get me wrong. I'm curious, too; but aren't there a few things we need in the nation's schools to get kids turned on to science... and math... and history... and... and...

I have wondered why I wasn't seeing much in the news with this incredible event. Oh dear, Jay is taking a pay cut. What will he do?
