Mayor Bloomberg of NYC was almost successful in banning the selling of sodas that were larger than 16 ounces, in the Big Apple. He says it would help fight obesity. That proposed law was over turned at the last moment.
A couple of questions come to mind.
1- Wouldn't that be like making a law that allowed the sales of cigarettes, but they could only be half the length of what they are now? This would fight lung cancer?
2- I would like to meet the person who led the fight to overturn the law that would ban the selling of soda in a bucket. Who was so incensed that he would no longer be able to buy a 24 ounce Coke, that he took the time and energy to fight City Hall? I love an activist, but dude, wouldn't it have been easier just to buy two, 12oz Cokes?
Today, my democrats confirmed that a proposed assault weapons ban will NOT be included in the new gun control legislation. So, why bother? #embarrassed
I saw this headline; "Rush is Right on Gay Marriage"
I didn't even read the story, but I'm quite sure, "No He Isn't"

I'm sure you're right.
Bloomberg SUCKS, for oh so many reasons. So glad he's almost out.
Good post! And you're right, why bother to pass the bill?
All kinds of reasons to be embarrassed...we need something to celebrate.
Embarrassment and disappointments....hard to watch the news anymore.
Isn't that the way of it....inane news every day.

That ban on big soda thing... who thought that up and presumed it would actually FLY? So, I supposed, you wouldn't then be able to buy two sodas, right? Holy cow, he's aiming to do some damage, call the cops, this guys packing two liters.
And Jerral is right, all kinds of reasons to be embarassed, *sigh*
It's beyond incomprehensible. I am speechless...
I am so disgusted with the politics in DC. All they care about is themselves. It is embarrassing.
