Back to school

I went back to school the other day.
It wasn't like I remembered it.
This class was fun.
It was online and I could participate whenever I wanted.
The title of it was Aperture.
I didn't get a detention or anything.
The subject matter was taught by Beth, and it was meant to help people with an interest in photography who knew very little about photography. (I'm speaking about myself.)

I thought I'd post some of my homework.
The first photo in each sequence represents a low numbered aperture setting. The second picture the highest setting of my camera.
The object was to blur the background while keeping the object of the shot in focus.

This last picture....I just like.

They are fabulous photos! I don't think my camera is fancy enough to do things like that but I must trawl back and check out that posting by Beth - I missed it somewhere along the way. Anyway, keep up the great work!

Great photos, Mark. I would love to learn more about photography, but first, I need a decent camera. Thanks for sharing.

I love the composition and colors in your last pic -- great job!

I, too went to Beth's school of photography. Amazing what a difference using simple language and illustrations make learning so much easier!

Hi Mark--great photos. I like the last one, too. I am Melinda's sister-in-law and posted a little something on my blog just for you! Hope you have time to check it out :)

You are a very good student. I took the class too, but haven't followed through to practice much. Good job!
Beth is the best for teaching us.
